Yet More Literary Events
Tuesday, November 18th, famous novelist John Updike will be doing a reading at 8 PM in the Statler Auditorium. Check it out.
Friday, November 21, two experimental writers who I esteem highly, Lee Ann Brown (we read a few of her poems at the beginning of the semester) and Carla Harryman, will be reading at 4 PM in Kroch Library (that's the rare books library underneath Olin).
Saturday, November 22, three young poets will be taking part in the West End Reading Series at Gimme! Coffee on State Street at 7 PM: India Radfar, Lisa Forrest, and Jonathan Skinner are their names.
Such a feast should make it easy for those of you who haven't yet done a blog entry in response to a reading to have something to talk about. Enjoy.

Another Literary Event
Local novelist J. Robert Lennon will be reading from his new book, Mailman, at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 16th in the Borg-Warner Room of the Tompkins County Public Library on the corner of Green and Cayuga Streets. Got it? Good.

Some of the most vivid and descriptive writing I've seen from any of you yet is appearing on your blogs as you describe the car or room of a fictional character. Amazing how much emotion we invest in cars in this country. I'm also really enjoying the mixture of description and insight I see in your evocations of your hometowns. I hope you're able to bring some of the same energy to your analysis of the structure of one of this week's short stories.
